I’ll never learn my lesson…
February 4, 2008
[3:20am on 4 Feb 2008 Mon.] As I look over my Anatomy & Physiology notes for an upcoming test (it’s today, actually), I can’t help but laugh at my stubborn self for being such a procrastinator. I’m taking a break after hours of scrambling to finish partially written sentences while color-coding keywords with my two highlighters ( If you must know, pink means “important” and yellow means “Read it. Learn it. Know it.”). I know, I know – the syllabus clearly states the dates for each and every test. Plus, I knew this one was coming since we’ve covered so much material already. Now, I am here freaking out because I’d love to get some rest after a busy weekend instead of study.
It makes no sense. You stay up late trying to retain several chapters of information while consuming gallons of caffeine. At the same time, you’re not getting the rest that you need in order to be able to focus and actually remember whatever the hell you’re reading. Less sleep, less memory. The test comes along and I bomb the crap out of it. You’d think I’d learn my lesson by now. Eh, I’m such a hard-headed person. Me = still awake studying for a test, that I had an entire weekend to prepare for, instead of sleeping. The story of my life. Anyone have any good time-managing tips for me?
Hi Lynnette
i see you’ve re-emerged from a few-month-long hiding.
Study Hacks is my top favourite blog. There are many great articles on that website, but start from these two and see if that works for you:

Cal Newport – the blog author – is also a published author whose book (How to Become a Straight-A Student) is a goldmine.
Thanks Arman! I will check those links out. Thanks for stopping by!
